What wagering actually costs, in pounds
This is the comparison that makes 0x meaningful. Wagering is expressed as a multiple, and the multiple applies either to the bonus alone or to the bonus and your deposit. The second doubles the cost and is written in the same size type as the first.

Put the middle row through slot maths. £1,750 of turnover at a 96% RTP has an expected loss of £70 — more than the £50 bonus is worth. That is the whole argument for no-wagering in one line: at typical UK multiples, the expected value of a matched bonus is negative before you account for max-bet rules, game weighting or expiry. A 0x offer of £10 is worth more than a 35x offer of £50.
The three places the value goes instead
The cash-out cap. The most common. A no-wagering spins offer that pays winnings in cash but caps withdrawal at £50 or £100 has converted an uncertain requirement into a certain ceiling. For most outcomes the cap never binds and the offer is genuinely clean; for the one outcome you actually wanted — a large win — it is the entire point of the term.

The pattern itself is the finding worth taking away: in our index, 0x wagering correlates with being outside the UK regulatory perimeter. A structure that looks player-friendly is clustering in the segment with the fewest player protections. Whether that is causal we cannot say from this sample, and we are not going to imply it.
JackBit is the interesting exception in kind rather than in licence. Rakeback is not a bonus with the wagering removed; it is a rebate on losses, which is a different product with a different failure mode — it rewards continued play rather than gating a withdrawal.

How to read a no-wagering offer in ninety seconds
- Find the maximum withdrawal line. If there is a cap, that number is the offer. Everything above it is decoration.
- Find the stake per spin. Twenty spins is meaningless; twenty spins at 20p is £4 of exposure.
- Find the expiry. Then decide whether you will realistically use it inside that window.
- Check whether “no wagering” covers the cash and the spins, or only one. Split offers where the spins are wager-free and the cash match is 35x are common, and the banner says “no wagering” either way.
- Check the qualifying deposit. Usually £10. A £5 deposit does not buy a smaller version of the offer, it buys none of it — see low deposit casinos.

One rule change matters directly to bonus maths and is under-discussed. Since 9 April 2025 the maximum online slot stake is £5 per spin, and since 21 May 2025 it is £2 per spin for players aged 18 to 24, under the Gambling Act 2005 (Operating Licence Conditions) (Amendment) Regulations 2025.
