Affiliate disclosure: Only Britsino, our featured partner, carries a tracked link on this page. Every other operator is coverage-only — reviewed, no partnership, no outbound link. Britsino ranks fifth of eight here, on the same formula applied to every entry. How we make money.
Start with the honest part
A casino welcome bonus is not free money and we are not going to write it up as if it were. Once you apply the wagering requirement, the game weighting, the maximum bet during wagering and the cap on withdrawable winnings, the arithmetic at a typical UK operator leaves you roughly where cash play would have left you. A bonus shifts variance. It does not shift expected value in your favour.
What a bonus does do is change how long a given deposit lasts, and the terms differ enough between operators that one offer can cost twice as much play as another for the same headline percentage. That is a real difference and it is what this page ranks.
Two numbers do most of the work:
- The multiplier — 30x, 35x or 40x across the operators below.
- What it applies to — “bonus only” or “bonus and deposit”. The second roughly doubles the required playthrough for the same multiplier. A 35x bonus-and-deposit offer is more demanding than a 40x bonus-only one.
Welcome offers compared by cost to clear
| # | Casino | Licence | Wagering | Applies to | Playthrough on a £50 bonus | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | NetBet | UKGC | 30x | Bonus only | £1,500 | 5.6 h |
| 2 | Cosmobet | UKGC | 35x | Bonus only | £1,750 | 4.2 h |
| 3 | Mr Green | UKGC | 35x | Bonus only | £1,750 | 8.4 h |
| 4 | Chanze | MGA | 35x | Bonus only | £1,750 | 7.2 h |
| 5 | Britsino ★ | UKGC | 35x | Bonus | £1,750 | 6.0 h |
| 6 | BetVictor | UKGC | 35x | Bonus and deposit | £3,500 | 5.0 h |
| 7 | Highbet | UKGC | 40x | Bonus | £2,000 | 12.0 h |
| 8 | CasinoK | MGA | 40x | Bonus and deposit | £4,000 | 6.8 h |
★ = GambleDragon’s featured commercial partner. Playthrough column assumes a £50 bonus on a £50 deposit and slot play weighted at 100%. Terms change; the operator’s current promotion page is always the authority. Payout figures are operator-stated medians corroborated against public payout reports.
Featured partner — Britsino
Britsino is the only operator here we earn commission from and it ranks fifth of eight, which is the honest outcome of applying the same formula to every entry. Its wagering multiple sits in the middle of the market and, as our full review says plainly, above the kindest end of it. Two things we do credit it for: the maximum cash-out on bonus winnings is published rather than buried, and its terms cleared our predatory-clause screen — no undefined “irregular play” void, no withdrawal-only identity check.
The specific warning we would repeat: Britsino’s game weighting penalises live dealer and table play, so if that is how you play, the welcome offer is functionally low-value to you and cash play is the better decision. Read the full Britsino review →
The offers in detail
1. NetBet — lowest multiplier in our UK set
30x on bonus only · UKGC · 5.6 h payout · £10 min
At 30x bonus-only, NetBet asks for the least play per pound of bonus of any UK licensee we track. Free spins are attached to a mainstream, high-RTP title rather than an obscure one, which matters because spin value is set by the game. The wider account is solid — the widest payment spread in our UK set — though the library is the smallest at 1,100 titles.
2. Cosmobet — 35x bonus only, fastest payout
35x on bonus only · UKGC · 4.2 h payout · £10 min
Clean structure, £5 maximum bet during wagering as is standard UK practice, and the quickest cash-out in our index once you have cleared it. The transparency mark against it is the invite-only VIP scheme with undisclosed terms — relevant here because loyalty offers are where the real long-run cost of a promotional relationship usually sits.
3. Mr Green — same terms, better tooling
35x on bonus only · UKGC · 8.4 h payout · £10 min
Identical wagering structure to Cosmobet with slower payouts, offset by the most complete limit-setting dashboard we assessed and RTP figures shown next to each game in the lobby. If you are taking a bonus, playing under a deposit limit you set first is the single most useful precaution available.
4. Chanze — clean terms, non-UK licence
35x on bonus only · MGA · 7.2 h payout · £20 (€) min
The bonus maths is fine. The licence is the issue: Chanze is regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority, not the UKGC, and is not integrated with GAMSTOP. If you have self-excluded, do not deposit here. Deposits are euro-denominated, so a sterling account may pick up a conversion charge.
5. Britsino — mid-market terms, published cap
35x on bonus · UKGC · 6.0 h payout · £10 min
Covered above. Worth adding for anyone comparing: the maximum cash-out matters as much as the multiplier. An offer with a generous percentage and a low cap on bonus-derived winnings can be worth less than a smaller offer with no cap, and the cap is never on the banner.
6. BetVictor — the bonus-and-deposit trap
35x on bonus and deposit · UKGC · 5.0 h payout · £10 min
The same 35x as three entries above it, and twice the playthrough, because the multiplier applies to your deposit as well as the bonus. This is the single most common misreading in UK casino promotions and it is why we rank on cost to clear rather than on the multiplier alone. Everything else about the operator is strong.
7. Highbet — 40x, on the bonus only
40x on bonus · UKGC · 12.0 h payout · £10 min
A higher multiplier than the top of the table but applied to the bonus alone, which keeps it cheaper to clear than the entry above it. Highbet’s draw is its Nolimit City and Hacksaw Gaming coverage; the 12-hour payout is the slowest UKGC figure we track apart from BoyleSports.
8. CasinoK — the most demanding structure here
40x on bonus and deposit · MGA · 6.8 h payout · £20 min
The highest multiplier applied to the widest base. On a maxed offer that runs into a five-figure playthrough. Also Malta-licensed and outside GAMSTOP, with the same caveat as Chanze. We would not take this offer; the account may still suit you on other grounds.
The five terms that decide what an offer is worth
- Wagering multiplier and base. Covered above. Multiply the bonus — and, where applicable, the deposit — by the multiplier. That is your required turnover before anything becomes withdrawable.
- Game weighting. Slots normally count 100%, table games 10% or less, live dealer often 0%. If you play live, most welcome offers are functionally unavailable to you. The live casino page covers this in more detail.
- Maximum bet during wagering. Commonly £5. Exceeding it, even accidentally on a single spin, typically voids the bonus and any winnings from it. This clause is enforced automatically.
- Maximum cash-out. A cap on what you can withdraw from bonus-derived winnings, applied even after you have cleared the wagering. Always in the promotion terms, never on the banner.
- Expiry. Usually 7 to 30 days. Unfinished wagering at expiry forfeits the bonus and everything won with it.
Then do the arithmetic. At a 96% RTP slot, turning over £1,750 costs about £70 in expected losses; turning over £3,500 costs about £140. Compare that against the bonus you are being offered before you opt in. Our RTP explainer and slot volatility guide cover the mechanics.
Declining the bonus is a legitimate strategy. Cash play has no wagering requirement, no maximum bet cap, no expiry and no cash-out limit, and your balance is withdrawable at any time. For live and table players it is almost always the better choice.
The regulatory backdrop
The UK online sector reported £6.5bn in gross gambling yield across 32.4 million active accounts in the Gambling Commission’s industry statistics for the 2023 reporting year. Promotional terms in this market are constrained on two sides: the Commission’s licence conditions govern how bonuses may be structured and how terms must be presented, and the Advertising Standards Authority enforces the CAP Code rules on gambling advertising, which restrict how offers may be promoted and to whom.
Credit card gambling has been banned in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, so a welcome bonus can never be funded on credit at a UKGC site. GAMSTOP integration has been mandatory for UKGC remote licensees since 31 March 2020 — the six UK-licensed entries above are inside that scheme; the two Malta-licensed ones are not. If you are self-excluded, no offer on this page is for you, and that is the correct outcome.
How we ranked these offers
Rank order is the cost to clear: the wagering multiplier applied to its stated base, converted to required turnover on a like-for-like £50 bonus with slot play weighted at 100%. Ties break on whether a maximum cash-out is published, then on payout speed. Headline bonus size is deliberately not a ranking factor — a larger offer with a worse structure is a worse offer. We do not rank no-deposit promotions here, because their terms are the most restrictive in the market and the format invites exactly the kind of misleading presentation UK advertising rules exist to prevent. Frequently asked questions
What does 35x wagering actually mean?
It means you must place qualifying bets totalling 35 times the bonus before the bonus or anything won from it becomes withdrawable. On a £50 bonus that is £1,750 of turnover. The critical detail is the base: if the terms say “35x bonus and deposit”, the same multiplier applies to your £50 deposit as well, taking the requirement to £3,500. Always read which base applies, because it changes the cost by a factor of two.
Which UK casino has the best welcome bonus?
On cost to clear, NetBet — 30x applied to the bonus only is the lowest requirement among the UK licensees in our index as of 1 August 2026. But “best bonus” depends on how you play. If you play live dealer, the best bonus is usually no bonus, because live play typically counts 0% towards wagering. If you play slots and intend to stay a while, a low multiplier on a bonus-only base is the offer worth having.
Can I withdraw a casino bonus straight away?
No. Bonus funds and anything won from them are locked until the wagering requirement is met, and many offers also cap the maximum you can withdraw from bonus-derived winnings even after you clear it. Your own deposit is a separate matter: at a UK-licensed operator you can normally withdraw unspent cash at any time, though doing so usually forfeits the bonus attached to it. Check the specific terms before you deposit.
Are casino bonuses worth taking?
For slot players who were going to play anyway and who read the terms, sometimes — a low-multiplier bonus-only offer extends a session at modest cost. For live and table players, usually not, because game weighting means the wagering does not progress. For anyone hoping to extract a reliable profit, no. Once wagering, maximum bet and cash-out caps are applied together, the arithmetic at a typical UK operator favours the house.
What voids a casino bonus?
Most commonly, exceeding the maximum bet during wagering — usually £5 per spin or hand — which is enforced automatically and can void both the bonus and everything won with it. Other triggers are letting the offer expire with wagering unfinished, playing excluded games, and breaching the one-bonus-per-household-and-payment-method rule. Multi-accounting to claim duplicate offers is a terms breach and results in voided winnings.
Why do you not list no-deposit bonuses?
Because their terms are the most restrictive in the market — the lowest cash-out caps and the highest effective wagering — and the format is where misleading promotion is most likely. UK advertising rules under the CAP Code exist partly because of it. We would rather rank offers we can explain honestly than chase the search volume attached to a promotion type we would not recommend.
